its one of my top movies for me, but i think that when your not working the real you is allowed on the weekends, you may not take it as far as they did in the movie but my close friend works for the state and as soon as she has vacation we go on all kinds of crazy adventures and burn it all the way.

Rat Race (2001) IMDB rating: 6.30 Plot: A group of billionaires led by a Las Vegas casino owner (John Cleese) search for things to bet on. They decide to pull a group of six strangers together to race from Vegas to Silver City, New Mexico to retrieve $2 million hidden in a locker. First one there gets all of the money. The first team are two addled brothers (Seth Green and Vince Vieluf, who talks indecipherably because of a newly pierced tongue). When they cannot catch a plane, they plot to destroy an airport control tower in a very funny sequence. Their antics carry them into a hot air balloon chase that catches a cow with a dangling rope and into a monster truck competition. Through various ineptitude, the heart ends up flying out of the truck’s window and the two have to recover it from a playful dog. The final race member (Breckin Meyer) is a straight-laced future lawyer who at first declines to participate in the race, but re-thinks his position after he meets a smart, beautiful woman (Amy Smart) who is flying a helicopter to New Mexico. He quickly finds out that she is unbalanced after she flies over her boy friend’s house and starts an attack on the boy friend when she sees him in the pool with an ex-girl friend. An air pursuit results in the crash of the helicopter. Dave Thomas also appears as Cleese’s humorless attorney.

If you were to purchase land to set up a self-sufficient farm, where might that be?
As I grow more and more tired of the rat-race daily-grind, I am getting closer to pursuing that dream of having my own farm. However, I’m not sure where would be a good place to do this. I love California, but with all the geniuses in charge, I’m terrified of what new taxes might be levied on us. I’m also concerned that land prices are too high to purchase a decent amount. Coastal Oregon seems nice, but land prices are also quite high. So, I’m thinking southern Utah, Colorado, or New Mexico. I’d consider Montana or Idaho, but I don’t think I can deal with extreme cold. That might exclude Colorado, as well.

Anyway, I’d love to know what you all think. Where would you buy, how many acres, and why. Please consider land prices, availability of resources, the psyche of the locals, and economic prospects.

Strange coincidence. We’ve been going through similar internal debates, although we’re getting too old for full self-sufficiency. Largely on the basis of climate, we’re looking at the southern Virginia Piedmont. Land prices are reasonable, taxes are quite low, and there are enough cities in the area that weekly shopping is not out of the question. I’m not sure about the psyche of the locals, having met mostly real estate agents. However crime is low, except in a handful of towns. Educational level, alas, is also low. Liberty University is in the area, which makes me think I’ll be in frequent arguments with bible-thumpers, but I can live with that.

There was a book from around the 40s, I think, entitled Five Acre and Independence. That’s the size we have been looking at, albeit for other reasons. You can get some nice places for a quarter-million or less, in that area.

First … sorry about my English …..

I have just turn 3 years old DD.
She start her first step in 9 mo old. She slept about 12 hours when shes about 1-2 mo… and shes not cranky at all …
She start to sing complete ABC song when she was 18 mo and know ABC, count 1,2,3 until 20.. about 22 mo..
start using computer (she know how to turn it on, go to internet and turn it off) about 23 mo… She could use computer hours and crying if I said stop … (she likes starfall website …)..

When she was about 28 mo … I gave her cookie with a hole in the middle … she said its "O" then she bite it … said its "U" turn it and said its "C" and turn it again and said its "N"….she used stick to make "T, H, L "

At about 34 mo she could do 24 puzzle .. first I teach her 2 times .. and then she could do it her self .. even when I bought a new one .. She could write Cat, Hat, Dog…

Now she could count 1 until 100 and ready to read…..

I think my DD is bright not gifted ..( shes not asking much of curios questions, and she act like normal children) … but my friend said she is gifted ….. What should I do ?…

And also she was born on Jan 2 … so she miss 2 days from the school cut off …

Do you think I should looking for early entry for UPK ? Or should I just let her wait for another year ….

She sounds like a bright child who has a parent who works with her and teaches her. Lucky little girl to have a mommy who loves her so much. Make sure you focus on other things besides academics. You need to help her develop her social and motor skills, too. Children do best if they are well rounded.

Don’t worry about getting her into school. She will do better as one of the oldest rather than one of the youngest. My niece was born on August 31. She started school at barely five and while she was capable of the classwork, she was behind socially. You also have to think about later, dating and boys and if she will be ready for all that when she is in middle school.

As a mother of a very bright child, I think yours is bright too. My daughter did very similar things at even earlier ages. Wait to start her later in school she’ll be better off. Some kids may be educationally smart but not ready emotionally.

I believe Batman would win, if only because the Tasmanian Devil is such an incredibly stupid animal. Even Bugs Bunny could beat him. Batman would probably use his Batarang to hook onto the Devil, so when he spun around, the Devil would get tied up. Either that or Batman would dress up like a female Tasmanian Devil and pretend to kiss him, then clamp a bear trap onto his mouth.

Lady crushed my son's face with her huge butt (Part 2)?!?
Okay, here’s a bit of a recap before I continue:

So I was in the elevator in the mall with my eight-year-old son and it was already quite full. It opened up again and in walked this total ***** I know from work; this tall, pompus, bleach blonde, ponytailed, makeup slavered skank with hippo hips and a titanic ***. Everyone at work knows what a sharp-tongued harpy she is.

We didn’t speak; it’s unlikely she even saw me. But I sure could SMELL her cheap perfume humming from her tight black and white stripped business suit.

So what happened was that she turned around and her enormous butt slammed itself on my son’s face and pushing him up on the wall. It seemed that nobody but me noticed as they were so squished up themselves and trying to slip themselves out of their tight positions. I was about to speak up tell her to move her fat *** out of the way, but I was so squashed myself I couldn’t say anything. Honestly, and a lot of the people in the elevator were jabbering away so loud I doubt she would have even heard me. I just motioned my son to hold on until the elevator stopped; but I could tell his face was being absolutely crushed. Her big butt wasn’t the soft jiggling type — It was the rock hard type.

At one point she looked irritated as began moving her butt cheeks around, as if trying to get rid of some knot in her butt, though she just ended up squashing my son’s face even more.

Eventually, the door opened and she walked out with many others. So my son actually managed to catch his breath.

Okay, so what after seeing the answers from the part 1 question, I decided today to talk to her at work. We were both in the lavatory alone and so I walked up to and proceeded to talk about it.

I had to refresh her memory a bit but then she remembered her journey in the elevator. Then I went on to tell her that her butt was pressing up against my son’s face. She looked seriously puzzled for a moment, asking if I was being serious, before, well, she burst out laughing. Trust me, from how hard she was laughing, it looked as if her boobs would burst out from her blazer. It wasn’t malicious laughter, it was the kind of, "OMG, you’re serious?!" laughter.

Eventually, she calmed down enough so we could talk again. I told her that I would like her to apologize, but she said that there wasn’t much point. "Well, he’s not hurt, is he?" she said and commented that that would have been most boys dream. I told again that it was just common courtesy to apologize but again she said I better just let it slide and that "next time…she’ll go gentle." before laughing and leaving.

So what now? Do I just let it slide and move on?

The Bone Collector. horrible movie. I almost barfed. First victim is shot, second is steamed to death, third is eaten alive by rats, fourth and fifth are almost drowned, and finally the protagonist(a quadraplegic) saves himself by biting into the murderer’s neck causing him to bleed to death. and you see each one happen and their bodies afterward. I saw it at CSI summer camp. Hated that move.

i need help finding a theme for this poem… any ideas?
My friend went to the piano; spun the stool
A little higher; left his pipe to cool;
Picked up a fat green volume from the chest;
And propped it open.
Whitely without rest,
His fingers swept the keys that flashed like swords,
And to the brute drums of barbarian hordes,
Roaring and thunderous and weapon-bare,
An army stormed the bastions of the air!
Dreadful with banners, fire to slay and parch,
Marching together as the lightnings march,
And swift as storm-clouds. Brazen helms and cars
Clanged to a fierce resurgence of old wars
Above the screaming horns. In state they passed,
Trampling and splendid on and sought the vast —
Rending the darkness like a leaping knife,
The flame, the noble pageant of our life!
The burning seal that stamps man’s high indenture
To vain attempt and most forlorn adventure;
Romance, and purple seas, and toppling towns,
And the wind’s valiance crying o’er the downs;
That nerves the silly hand, the feeble brain,
From the loose net of words to deeds again
And to all courage! Perilous and sharp
The last chord shook me as wind shakes a harp!
And my friend swung round on his stool, and from gods we were men,
"How pretty!" we said; and went on with our talk again.
