Boat Trip
woensdag, december 16th, 2009|
IMDB rating: 4.50 Plot: Jerry and Nick are two best buddies whose love lives have hit rock bottom, Jerry’s especially, having just vomited all over his fiance on a hot air balloon trip prior to proposing to her. To escape their troubles and find women, they book a trip on board a cruise-liner, unaware the travel agent has just played a horrid trick on them in retaliation for Nick offending his secret gay lover. And that’s the trick; it’s a gay cruise-liner for gay men to meet and mingle. Slowly but surely, the two main characters begin to realize this and in turn get into a lot of humorous predicaments. |

Trick question. You said you spent 4/5 time in the car and 1/5 meaning you spent 9.6 hours in the car and 2.4 hours in the boat

Answer is choice e) 1 and 1/3
——–rate—time–distance
Car—-5r——t——-4/5*d
boat—r—-12-t—–1/5*d
———Now do rate times time = distance
5rt/r(12-t)=4/5*d/1/5*d Use of a proportion here.
Now reduce each fraction: 5t/(12-t)=4/1 or 4 so 5t=4(12-t) or 5t=48-4t or 9t=48
t=5 and 1/3 hours 12-t=6 and 2/3 hours. The difference of these times is you answer
which is 1 and 1/3 hours
